Matt on KTRS for Popcorn
Matt on KTRS for Popcorn
Popcorn Spokesman...
The Big 550 KTRS (K Talk Radio, St. Louis) is one of the AM news stations in St. Louis. Its on-air personalities include McGraw Milhaven, Frank Opinion, John Carney (who we met! he told us that he made “Granite Derby Cars” back when he was in Scouts!) and Martin Kilcoyne.
A few days ago Mr. Kilcoyne and others discussed whether people still sell door-to-door. The discussion shared that Girl Scouts still sell cookies door-to-door. It was proposed that few other groups still sell that way. Marc Tenholder, the Development Director for the Greater St. Louis Area Council (GSLAC) was listening and called in; he shared how Scouts - Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venture Crew - do sell popcorn, mostly door-to-door.
GSLAC was offered a chance to talk on the show. Since Matt’s an enthusiastic seller, they invited him to attend. Matt’s teachers were very supportive of his missing he last couple hours of school to get there for the 2:10pm broadcast, so he/we accepted. It was much fun. Matt and Mr. Tenholder did all of the talking with Martin & Claire.
Matt even got them to buy some popcorn from him!
We’re thankful to all who helped make this happen, including Josh & Christine!
