Dad & Matt got time to see their show.

We arrived just before it started and were fortunate enough to get right up to the fence line, from which we saw the pre-show up close.

Through the History Channel’s “American Restorers” that the Unites States Air Force Thunderbirds call Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), on the NE side of Las Vegas, home.  In that episode the team restored the fiberglass F-105 replica... it looks beautiful!

You can see it in person at the Thunderbirds’ Museum, at the AFB.

The Thunderbirds performed at Scott AFB in September, 2012, and Matt & I saw them.  We took the pictures on this page at that air show.  Matt helped us get right up to the fence line, for front-row viewing of the pre- and post-flight ground crew action.  The whines from the engines was impressive!

The entire show was AWESOME!

We found a YouTube of their show in Las Vegas:

Matt took most of the photos below!

Seeing the US Air Force Thunderbirds inspired Matt to put them on our Webelos Den/Patrol patch.

We also got to visit the Thunderbird hotel at the Grand Canyon.

The lobby book describes what the thunderbird represents to Native Americans.
