Summer Vacation 2016...

We visited:

-Augusta, GA

-Charleston, SC
-
-Hilton Head Island, SC
-
-and we slept an overnight in both directions in Nashville, TN
And we had one of our best, most relaxing family trips... ever.

Family Summer Vacation 2016
Day 7-14: Hilton Head Island, SC
For the rest of the trip we basically stayed at the hotel, swimming in the ocean and the pool, taking a few bike rides, and only driving to Mass, at Holy Family Catholic Church, and the grocery store.
This is where we really slowed down... nice!

When I offered to email this photo to the fisherman, he educated me... I had seen AirDrop on the iPhone before but didn’t know what it was. When you up-flip the bottom of your screen, you’ll see AirDrop. Turn it on and let “Everyone” see it, and then your two phones can talk via bluetooth.
Then go to photos and highlight the photos. When you click the button to send (up-arrow... the one to press to email or text or...), you’ll see the person’s phone pop up. Click that, and a few seconds later they have the photos... no “email too big to send” complications.
And we did all this standing in the ocean, with water lapping at our ankles.
Awesome!

Initially I wanted to be by the other pool... after a couple days I really appreciated this much quieter location.
During our first dinner, Abby shared her desire to get ice cream for desert, at the shop next to the Harbour Town lighthouse - http://harbourtownlighthouse.com. We rode our bikes there, which is about four miles each way.

We enjoyed ice cream, and saw an amazing sunset... and we have been blessed with many at HHI and elsewhere over the years.
This sunset really stood out in part because its crepuscular rays were amazing.

We stayed a couple minutes after sunset and saw the clouds change from greyish purple and then... into a glowing red.
Right at that time Abby captured this rapid sequence of a pelican diving into the ocean - something Dad tried multiple times to repeat himself on the trip... and could not do.
