We have captured “heading home” photos for several years - one final family photo, usually captured on the balcony, taken just before we check out and get into the car to drive off.  This is that photo from Kona / the Big Island.

The Kona Airport, like most in Hawaii, is open-air.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the Spectrum Enterprise ads at Gate 10 of the airport... our group at work supports the applications for Spectrum Enterprise!

Hawaiian Airlines operates B-717 airplanes between the islands.

The flight from Kona to Honolulu had us seeing all but two of the other islands:

1. -Maui
   

2. -Kohoolawe
   

3. -Lanai
   

4. -Moloki
   

5. -Oahu
   

But the clouds made it hard to see the islands.

We could see Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach and its hotels on the descent into Honolulu International.

We stayed at the Marriott in Ko’ Olina, which is located on the southwestern corner of the island; it is next to Disney’s family resort.  When we arrived, they recognized Ann Marie’s birthday, which was quite nice.
